About Me, the Cliff notes
I graduated from Alexander High School in Laredo, Texas and went to Baylor University, where I got a degree in psychology. I also attended George W. Truett Seminary in Waco, Texas, where I got a Master’s in Divinity. I have published essays and poems in Sacred Seasons, which is a publication of Seeds of Hope Publishers . In 2011, I published a children’s book, My Friends and I, which is available for purchase on My Writing page. I am currently working on three manuscripts for publication. One is being published, entitled, The Story of Lucy. I am looking for a literary agent To help me publish some other manuscripts. I have been to India three times (in 2005, 2006, and 2011) to help the disabled community. I worked with an organization called ProVision Asia in Bangalore, India. I have published poems about my experiences in India through The Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America and in other publications
In 2012, I was the keynote speaker at Texas A&M International University’s "Voices of the Monte" series. I spoke on publishing. I officiated my first wedding and performed my first Baptism. In 2011 my book was published. So, I did book related activities. In 2008, I organized, lead, and was a speaker at Many Forms: One Body Conference (with Potter Vessel Ministries). In 2006, I was a guest speaker at the 2006 Joy Conference: God’s Special Purposes for God’s Special People. Then, at the Acts 1:8 Mission Conference, I spoke about my experiences in India. I have spoken at Seventh and James Baptist Church in Waco, Texas a number of times, in part because I was baptized there in 1999 and ordained there in 2010. (So, I grew up in that church!)
I have also started The Heart of Heather website. It is my hope that the “Heart of Heather” will organize events and activities...to add to my story and to bring glory to God.
